100% Corriedale wool, from Wisconsin, USA
Corriedale wool has a well-deserved good reputation, being a reliable m multipurpose fiber. Medium soft, it has nice long staples, some luster, and well-defined, even crimp, which means it has a lot of loft and elasticity. Versatile-for knitting, crocheting and weaving. (The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook, Robson & Ekarius, 2011). Great for sweaters, hats, shawls, mittens.
This Corriedale yarn was spun in Wisconsin, from wool sourced in Wisconsin. These are the wool’s natural, undyed colors. To me, it is next-to-your-skin soft. It’s quite a plump yarn and looks like it would be closer to Worsted weight rather than DK when knit and blocked.
You can prolong the life of all textiles and colors by washing by hand in cool water and avoiding exposure to strong, direct, prolonged light. For yarn, air drying on a flat surface will prevent stretching and sagging. A neutral wool wash is recommended. I currently use non scented Eucalan or Orvus.
