This listing is for 1 skein
This yarn might be considered a little bit rustic and woolly, with more loft and spring than Merino. Highland sheep are a crossbreed of Corriedale and Merino breeds, providing durability with softness. Great for socks, shawls, colorwork. Perfect when you want a yarn with a little old fashioned wool feel.
Non superwash, botanically dyed
100% Peruvian Highland Wool, Fingering weight, 2ply yarn
437 yds/100g skein
These skeins are “one of a kind”, each being unique. This base may or may not be offered again in the future; all current stock is listed.
The wool for Zebra Crossing comes from small flocks in the vast and hard environment of the Peruvian Highlands, and is milled in the Highlands as well. Visit www.chesterwool.com/new-blog to learn more about how purchasing this yarn supports small Peruvian farmers.
Minor bleeding may occur on first wash. Each skein is unique, purchase multi-skein projects together & alternate rows. Colors are shown as accurately as possible but Monitors will vary.
Natural dyes used include Madder, Cutch, Pomegranate and others.
You can prolong the life of all textiles and colors by washing by hand in cool water and avoidingexposure to strong, direct, prolonged light. For yarn, air drying on a flat surface will prevent stretching and sagging. A neutral wool wash is recommended. I currently use non scented Eucalan or Orvus.
