Grinning Sheep DK
is a woolen spun, 50/50 blend of Rambouillet and Bluefaced Leicester (BFL). This DK weight yarn knits into a buttery soft fabric with beautiful stitch definition. Being woolen spun results in a lightweight, bouncy yarn.

Rambouillet sheep, developed from the Spanish Merino, produce a high-quality fine wool fleece. BFL sheep were developed in northern England in the early 1900s. They have a long wool fleece that creates beautiful and durable knitted items-soft enough for next-to-skin, but sturdy with a lovely sheen.

These Grinning Sheep are lovingly raised by Nancy on her small Ohio farm. The yarn was spun in Michigan and naturally dyed in Ohio.

This very special yarn deserved extra special dyes! 7/8 colors were dyed with local dye materials collected sustainably, the last with purchased natural dyes to produce blue-green. All are colorfast.

This is a small batch, hand dyed yarn. All products available are listed.

approx 120 yd/60 g, though most are larger.

Pattern suggestion: Gro Hat

Minor bleeding may occur on first wash. Each skein is unique, purchase multi-skein projects together & alternate rows. Colors are shown as accurately as possible but Monitors will vary.

You can prolong the life of all textiles and colors by washing by hand in cool water and avoiding exposure to strong, direct, prolonged light. For yarn, air drying on a flat surface will prevent stretching and sagging. A neutral wool wash is recommended. I currently use non scented Eucalan or Orvus.

The Artwork is just for your enjoyment, it's not for sale!
